Safer East Texas Training (SETT)
Calling all East Texas professionals!
Join us for the Safer East Texas Training, a powerful one-day event focused on preventing violence, exploitation, and trauma in our communities, while earning TCOLE hours, Continuing Nursing Education, Continuing Legal Education, and Continuing Social Work Education hours.
Topics include trauma-informed domestic violence response for first responders; scene safety and strangulation awareness; behavioral analysis and investigative strategies in severe child abuse cases; dominant/primary aggressor determination and avoiding dual arrest through understanding power and control; and a survivor-led perspective on the impact of childhood sexual assault.

Blueberry Cupcake Battle at the 36th Annual Texas Blueberry Festival
Janelle Grum Family Crisis Center of East Texas is excited to announce the 12th Annual Blueberry Cupcake Battle during the Texas Blueberry Festival on Saturday, June 13, 2026! This exciting and delicious event will take place at the festival in downtown Nacogdoches, where the best amateur and professional bakers will compete
Craft six cupcakes to impress our judges with your creativity, appearance, and flavor. Deliver your creations to Mast Hall at 317 E Main St, Nacogdoches, TX 75961 by 10a, Saturday June 14, during the Texas Blueberry Festival.
Judging begins at 10:30a, with awards at 12p. Entry fee is $25 per entry, with all proceeds fueling the life-saving services for survivors of abuse in East Texas. Recipe and display theme must be related to the Texas Blueberry Festival.
