Safer East Texas Training (SETT)
Calling all East Texas professionals!
Join us for the Safer East Texas Training, a powerful one-day event focused on preventing violence, exploitation, and trauma in our communities, while earning TCOLE hours, Continuing Nursing Education, Continuing Legal Education, and Continuing Social Work Education hours.
Topics include trauma-informed domestic violence response for first responders; scene safety and strangulation awareness; behavioral analysis and investigative strategies in severe child abuse cases; dominant/primary aggressor determination and avoiding dual arrest through understanding power and control; and a survivor-led perspective on the impact of childhood sexual assault.

Take Back the Night
Join the Family Crisis Center of East Texas for Take Back the Night: A Walk Against Sexual Violence, a community event held during Sexual Assault Awareness Month to honor survivors, raise awareness, and stand together against sexual violence. This meaningful evening will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:00 PM at the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Food Drive for Survivors
Support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault by participating in the Family Crisis Center of East Texas food drive. With three meals and snacks provided daily to about 30 residents, your donations make a direct, lasting impact year-round.
The deadline is Tuesday, March 31st. Drop off these items at any outreach office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Be sure to call ahead for San Augustine, Crockett, and Nacogdoches office hours as they are limited.
Safe Summer Break
Join us on Thursday, April 23rd from 7-9pm at the SFA Recreation Center, located at 1817 Wilson Dr., for an evening of fun and safety at Safe Summer Break!
Enjoy free food, drinks, games, and a chance to win prizes, while learning essential strategies and resources to stay safe.
As students prepare to leave campus for the break, this event focuses on being proactive about personal safety and knowing where to turn if support is ever needed. Students can stop by to visit with a variety of community organizations that will be sharing resources and helpful information!
Eat at Raising Cane's on Thursday April 16 to Support Survivors of Abuse in our Community!
Mention the fundraiser at the restaurant or apply the code RCFUND96 to online or app orders at checkout and Raising Cane's will donate 15% of net sales from 4-9pm to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the emergency shelter, in transitional housing and in outreach services at the Family Crisis Center of East Texas!

Candy Donations Needed for Easter Festivities!
The agency is preparing Easter festivities for child survivors staying in the emergency shelter and in outreach services. We are currently in need of individually wrapped candy for our Easter Eggstravaganza.
Donations can be dropped off at any administrative or outreach office through Tuesday, March 31. Please call ahead to Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Crockett to ensure staff are in office.
