Personal/Legal Advocacy

The Family Crisis Center provides victims with legal advocacy services such as assistance with emergency or long term protective orders, court accompaniment, assistance with Texas VINE, assistance with Crime Victim’s Compensation, law enforcement accompaniment, emergency legal services, and assistance with the U-VISA application process.  Agency advocates can also provide personal advocacy and case management to assist with connecting victims to community resources.  Organized adult and child Support Groups are also held for agency clients on a weekly basis.

Our agency provides emergency shelter services to sexual assault survivors in addition to victims of domestic violence. The Sexual Assault Services Coordinator seeks to reduce the trauma a survivor experiences by helping a survivor understand sexual assault, police procedures, the sexual assault examination, legal process, counseling opportunities, court accompaniment, and information and referrals about our agency’s services and other service providers.
