Counseling

The Family Crisis Center provides victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault with a full-time Counselor, allowing for free therapy services.  The Counseling Program offers long-term therapeutic strategies for assisting victims suffering from abuse.  Our Counselor offers immediate residential, transitional, and non-residential individual and group therapy services to adults and children, using specialized evidence based treatment models such as Trauma Focused–Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).  These therapy models are designed specifically to work with survivors of family violence and sexual assault, and help victims heal from trauma and abuse.  The models are designed to work with the adult victim, children, and the non-offending family members.  Last year, 165 victims received counseling services, and the demand for therapy continues to show the critical need for counseling services in our service area.
