24-Hour Crisis Hotline

The Family Crisis Center of East Texas operates a 24-hour crisis hotline.

The Family Crisis Center of East Texas operates a 39-bed emergency shelter, or Safehouse.

Transitional Housing

The Family Crisis Center operates “The Next Step,” a seven-unit transitional housing complex for victims of family violence.

Personal/Legal Advocacy

The Family Crisis Center provides victims with legal advocacy services such as assistance with emergency or long term protective orders, court accompaniment, assistance with Texas VINE, assistance with Crime Victim’s Compensation, law enforcement accompaniment, emergency legal services, and assistance with the U-VISA application process.

Child Advocacy

The Child Advocate provided over 5,400 services last year to residential and non-residential children that included child specific safety planning, educational assistance, school clothes and supplies, support groups, recreational activities, and referrals to therapy and other essential services.

Counseling

The Family Crisis Center provides victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault with a full-time Counselor, allowing for free therapy services.

Economic Stability Program

The Self-Sufficiency Advocate offers weekly support groups and self-sufficiency classes at transitional housing and in the emergency shelter.
