In The Community

The Family Crisis Center collaborates with numerous entities within the nine-county region that we serve.  Listed below are the active, community partnerships that are managed by and/or were initiated by our agency:

  • Sexual Assault Response Team (S.A.R.T.) – Includes the Family Crisis Center sexual assault program staff, as well as members of law enforcement, medical and mental health providers and child protective services.  The SART is an inclusive, working community group.  Through scheduled meetings, individual agencies provide information about how the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner)/SART program is progressing, discuss concerns and issues as they arise, promote the longevity of the SANE program, review ongoing cases and provide specialty training to other participants.
  • Angelina County Family Court – The Family Crisis Center has been a collaborative partner with the Angelina County Family Court Program since its inception in 2008.  The Family Court Program is a criminal justice initiative that coordinates with our agency’s victim services, the judges, batterer’s intervention program, and Adult Probation. Angelina County Family Court provides a holistic approach to restoration of the victim and children’s recovery, while connecting offenders with therapy and holding them accountable for their acts of family violence.
  • Nacogdoches County S.A.V.E. (Sexual Assault Violence Education) Coalition – Comprised of Nacogdoches County community leaders and service providers that assist the Family Crisis Center in providing education and awareness to the community related to the primary prevention of sexual assault and sexual harassment.
